European Federations join to form EEF. The International Jumping Riders Club’s view 19/02/2010

Equestrian sports are in a state of change, as demonstrated by the founding some years ago of Federations in Asia and the Americas and now the European Equestrian Federation founded the EEF.

The IJRC therefore take note of this new association but cannot fail to underline that in this case, as in others, riders do not seem to find adequate representation. At the moment in the EEF, riders are only invited to participate and follow the working groups and commissions, but have no right to vote.

We know that a working group is studying how to include an athlete representative in the board as requested by the Olympic Charter in order to consider the association as a member of the Olympic movement. We are looking forward to work together in the future.
