FEI President receives the Steiger Award 18/03/2010

Recognized for Her outstanding merits in the field of sport, HRH Princess Haya Bint Al Hussein, President of the equestrian international federation received, the Steiger Award at a gala dinner at Bochum’s Centennial Hall in Germany (March 13th).
The award is given annually to personalities who are recognized for their work in fields of music, sports, media, environment and film.
A former Olympic athlete, Princess Haya was presented the Steiger Award for Her various roles in the field of sport, including her work as President of the International Equestrian Federation (FEI), as a member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and most recently, as President of the Dubai Organizing Committee (DOC) for the SportAccord Convention 2010. Her experience with sport also influences Her humanitarian efforts and Her work as a UN Messenger of Peace.
To illustrate the audience HRH Haya’s role and the importance of her work in the equestrian sports world, will be the German champion Ludger Beerbaum, IJRC vice President.
Beerbaum is the only athlete in the equestrian story to be gold medallist or winnere in all the most important world competition: Olympic Games, Weg, Euroepan Championship and World Cup.
