Geneva : Maclain Ward case. IJRC's point of view 19/04/2010
Written by Carlo Bozzo
As riders we are the first to guarantee health and welfare to the horse with which they live and compete each day. We consider it essential to maintain a conduct based on the highest respect for fair play and for their horses. And we appreciate and fully support the FEI policy on horse welfare.
With regards to the happenings in Geneva during the world cup final which have involved the United States' rider McLain Ward, the athletes state that is not the role of their association, the International Jumping Rider Club (IJRC), to comment on any decision made by the Ground Jury or the FEI tribunal, but we agree with the FEI statement that there is no evidence of malpractice in this case.

Perhaps all of you should read the regulations you apparently agreed to because the next time a totally subjective opinion eliminates one of your horses from competition and you discover there is NO APPEAL, maybe the reality of the manipulation and corruption will become clearer.
There is an element in the FEI that needs to be rooted out and I can only hope ALL the rider factions unite to do something about their own organization.

E. Allan Buck said FEI is corrupt
FEI is corrupt.
They will not enforce Article 401, yet the have a no appeal rule so they can create the winner.
Health and welfare of the horse is supposed to be primary, but evidence must be produced that there is a problem.
Equine governing bodies and competitors have resigned themselves to be bashed and controlled by individuals who have not integrity.
