Riders and owners are reminded to ensure that all influenza vaccinations and vaccination histories are correctly entered into the FEI HorseApp, as from 1 July 2026, missing or incorrect records may result in sanctions.
What’s changing?
- Digital registration of vaccinations will be mandatory through the FEI HorseApp.
- Vaccinations must be entered by a veterinarian on the same day they are administered, and in the presence of the horse.
- Horses arriving at FEI events without properly recorded vaccinations may lead to sanctions for the Person Responsible (Athlete) under FEI Veterinary Regulations.
Deadline?
- The transition period ENDS on 30 June 2026.
- No fines will be issued during this educational phase.
From 1 July 2026:
- Missing or incorrect vaccination records in the FEI HorseApp may result in formal sanctions and fines.
What owners and riders should do now?
- Review your horse’s vaccination schedule to ensure it is up to date.
- Schedule vaccinations well in advance of FEI competitions.
- Make sure your veterinarian records the vaccination in the FEI HorseApp on the day it is given.
- Verify that the vaccination has been correctly logged in the app after your appointment.
- Important reminder: It is the responsibility of both the owner and the rider to ensure all vaccinations are accurately recorded in the FEI HorseApp.
