Thanks to their victory this afternoon in the Longines FEI Jumping Nations Cup Final, the Belgian team not only won their third title on the Olympic track of the Real Club de Polo, but also secured their place at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. With three of their four rounds without penalties, the Belgians completed an extraordinary final, ahead of France, with four points, and Switzerland, also with four points, but with a worse time.
Gilles Thomas (Calleryama), Koen Vereecke (Kasanova de la Pomme), Jerome Guery (Quel Homme de Hus) and Gregory Whatelet (Iron Man Van de Padenborre) have been the members of the winning team, with Olivier Philippaerts as substitute and Peter Weinberg as Chef d'Equipe.
In addition, Koen Vereecke and Jerome Guery will share a money prize of 100,000 euros along with Frenchmen Simon Delestre and Kevin Staut and Dutchman Harrie Smolders, for having completed Thursday's and today's rounds without penalties.
