EQUINE HERPES VIRUS (EHV-1) - NEUROLOGICAL FORM: UPDATE FROM FEI - 20 - 21 MARCH

The FEI continues to follow up on the horse in Scotland that tested positive for EHV-1 after its return from Vilamoura (POR). All horses from the Scottish stable that were at the Portuguese venue returned negative tests on 5 March prior to their departure from Vilamoura. The focus now is on identifying the strain of the virus to establish whether or not it is linked to the Valencia outbreak.
The French National Federation confirmed to the FEI that the eight horses in two separate premises in France that have tested positive for EHV-1 had returned from Valencia (ESP).

The Danish National Federation has provided a very thorough brief to the FEI about its horses that participated at the Tours in Valencia or Vejer de la Frontera. Both groups of horses are in isolation back at their home stables.
