FEI BOARD MEETING

The second in-person FEI Board meeting of the year took place on 18 November in the framework of the FEI Hybrid General Assembly 2023 organised in Mexico City (MEX). The main resolutions taken by the FEI Board are summarised below:

 

• WELCOME BY THE FEI PRESIDENT
• FEI HYBRID GENERAL ASSEMBLY 2023
• ALLOCATION OF FEI CHAMPIONSHIPS:                                                                        The Board allocated the following FEI Championships: FEI World Championships 2026 (Jumping, Dressage, Eventing, Para Dressage, Driving, Vaulting, Aachen (GER), 10-23 August)
• FEI European Championships 2025
• EQUINE ETHICS AND WELLBEING COMMISSION FINAL REPORT (Following 18 months of intensive academic research review, the Chair of the Equine Ethics and Wellbeing Commission Professor Dr. Natalie Warran (NZL)delivered the final recommendations to the FEI Board in a report entitled, "A Good Life for Horses: A vision for the future involvement of horses in sport” to be discussed at the FEI Sports Forum 2024.
• GOVERNANCE, President Succession Working Group
• PROTECTIVE MEASURES REGARDING RUSSIAN AND BELARUSIAN ATHLETES, HORSES AND OFFICIALS  (The FEI Headquarters was tasked by the Board with establishing the conditions and timeline allowing individual Russian and Belarusian Athletes, Horses and Officials to resume participation in FEI Events as neutrals.)
• NOMINATIONS COMMITTEE REPORT
• APPOINTMENT OF TECHNICAL COMMITTEE MEMBERS: The Board approved the following appointments to the FEI Technical Committees: FEI Jumping Committee Michel Sorg (SUI) was appointed as a member of the FEI Jumping Committee for the fouryear term 2023-2027, replacing outgoing member Henrik Ankarcrona (SWE).
• JUMPING: The FEI Board approved clarifications and modifications to the rules for the following series:

• DRESSAGE
• PARA DRESSAGE
• EVENTING
• ENDURANCE
• DRIVING AND PARA DRIVING
• VAULTING
• VETERINARY
• MULTI-SPORT GAME
• PARIS 2024 OLYMPIC AND PARALYMPIC GAMES
