A line-up worthy of a championship! For its first CSI 5*, and the first CSI 5* organised in the world since international show jumping resumed, this weekend the HUBSIDE JUMPING de Grimaud will play host to 22 of the 30 best riders currently on the planet! Admission to the show is still free of charge. Fans of riding and very high-level sport will be delighted.

No, it’s not a World Cup Final or another international championship. But from 2 to 5 July, the crème de la crème of international show jumping will come face to face at the HUBSIDE JUMPING de Grimaud’s CSI 5*, the only show of this level organised in July in the world, where there should have been almost ten other ones, if the pandemic and the economic crisis hadn’t occurred. So an exceptional event means an exceptional line-up! Seventy five percent of the World top 30 expected To discover the list of riders taking part in the HUBSIDE JUMPING de Grimaud ‘s CSI 5*, take the Longines World Rankings’ top 30 as of 31 May 2020, remove the American riders and keep all of the European ones (or those who have settled in Europe), apart from a few exceptions and you have the master list! This weekend each national federation will be sending its best ambassadors to the French Riviera.

With for Austria, Max Kühner (#23), for Belgium, Niels Bruynseels (#17), Pieter Devos (#4), Olivier Philippaerts (#30) and Jos Verlooy (#20), for Brazil, Marlon Modolo Zanotelli (#19), for France, Simon Delestre (#29), Julien Epaillard (#13), Pénélope Leprévost (#24) and Kevin Staut (#22), for Germany, Christian Ahlmann (#12), Daniel Deusser (#3) and Marcus Ehning (#16), for Great Britain, Scott Brash (#9), for Ireland, Denis Lynch (#28), for Italy, Emanuele Gaudiano (#25), for the Netherlands, Maikel van der Vleuten (#15), for Sweden, Peder Fredricson (#6) and Henrik von Eckermann (#14), and last but not least, for Switzerland, Martin Fuchs (#2) and Steve Guerdat (#1). During this third weekend of the HUBSIDE JUMPING in Grimaud, sport will have pride of place!

And when you look a little closer, the master list of this incredible weekend on the French Riviera boasts 11 medallists! A torrent of current medallists And naturally, the four current French Olympic team gold medallists are expected at the HUBSIDE JUMPING’s CSI 5*: Pénélope Leprévost and Kevin Staut, of course, but also Roger-Yves Bost and Philippe Rozier, who has entered his partner at the 2016 Rio Olympics, Rahotep de Toscane. The Olympic medallists keep their title for life; thus, three other Olympic equestrian team medallists will be competing in Grimaud’s ring: Germany’s Marcus Ehning, the 2000 Olympic team gold medallist, Scotland’s Scott Brash, the 2012 Olympic team gold medallist and America’s Laura Kraut, the 2008 Olympic team gold medallist and of course, Switzerland’s Steve Guerdat, the 2012 Olympic individual gold medallist. Surprise: two other Olympic gold medallists have made the HUBSIDE JUMPING their headquarters for the last few weekends: the Netherlands’ Jan Tops, the 1992 Olympic team gold medallist, and Great Britain’s Nick Skelton, the current Olympic individual gold medallist, who have both come to accompany and coach their partners / wives, Australia’s Edwina Tops-Alexander for the former, and Laura Kraut for the latter, the 2008 Olympic team gold medallist, as mentioned above, but also the current World team gold medallist, who will be riding Zeremonie, the mare which accompanied her to the most recent World Equestrian Games.

As for the European medallists, the HUBSIDE JUMPING is also full of top names, with the presence of the current European individual gold medallist, Switzerland's Martin Fuchs, and the four Red Devils, the team gold medallists at last year’s Europeans in Rotterdam, Belgium’s Pieter Devos with Claire Z, Jérôme Guéry and Quel Homme de Hus, Jos Verlooy and Grégory Wathelet. Lastly, Switzerland's Steve Guerdat will also be present as the winner of the most recent Longines FEI World Cup Final. The tracks of the courses of this third week of international competition in Europe will be designed by France’s Cédric Longis. Three levels of competition will be on offer (CSI 1, 2 and 5*), boasting prize money totalling 545,000 euros, of which 200,000 euros will be for Sunday’s CSI 5* Grand Prix.
