Martin Fuchs (SUI) sealed victory in the Longines FEI Jumping World Cup™ Qualifier of Bordeaux (FRA) this evening, and in doing so, earned crucial points to secure qualification to the Longines FEI Jumping World Cup™ Final, hosted this year by his home nation of Switzerland in the city of Basel.
After a slow start to the series by his own lofty standards, Fuchs was determined to qualify for a home Final and his 14-year-old partner Connor Jei (Connor x Cosimo) mirrored his intent as they stormed around Jean Francois Morand’s Jump-Off track from third draw of the 12 qualified combinations to set an unbeatable target of 37.45 seconds.
Pieter Devos (BEL) consolidated his incredible form thus far in the Series, as he piloted his homebred ten-year-old mare Casual DV Z (Cornet Obolensky x Cicero Z van Paemal) to second place in a time of 39.94 seconds.
Willem Greve continued his late campaign as he added third place here with Grandorado TN (Eldorado vid Zeshoek x Carole’s II) to his Leipzig victory with another faultless performance and also guaranteed his place in what will be his first Longines FEI Jumping World Cup™ Final in Basel this April.
