Goodbye Geneva, See you again next year!

Once again this year’s CHI de Genève proved to be of the highest possible quality, confirming its status as one of the best, most prestigious and coveted shows in the world bringing together the most important riders and horses on the international circuit. It would really take too long to list them all!
Geneva is a show with a very intense and diversified programme that culminates with Friday’s Rolex IJRC Top 10 Final and Sunday’s Rolex Grand Prix, a leg of the  Rolex Grand Slam of Show Jumping.

It is a unique occasion for great sport but also for meeting people, establishing relationships and planning the future for all those whose lives are dedicated to our world and thanks to it.
This year too, the Rolex IJRC Top 10 Final played the starring role with the best riders in the world showing truly outstanding horsemanship.

The Rolex IJRC Top 10 Final is an extremely important goal in the careers of all riders, an exciting but also an emotional moment since it is the result of all the hard work done to at last qualify and mark a new beginning with an unforgettable wealth of experience.
Of the 21 editions held, 17 have until been held in Geneva, always with great success and warmly greeted by an extraordinary, competent and exciting audience.
Among the any moments experienced in Geneva this year, one of the most important was Clooney’s retirement from show jumping. Emotional and moved, accompanied by his family, the horse’s owner Luigi Baleri, his groom Sean Vard and an amazing number of fans, Martin spoke as a true horseman, expressing immense gratitude and real love filling his heart for Clooney, his partner in competitions and everyday life.

The IJRC would therefore like to thank all those who once again made this event possible this year too. A special thank you to Rolex for the elegance and class that has always distinguished its event and without whom all this would not be possible, to our friend the journalist Alban Poudret together with Michel Sorg and Sophie Mottu, and all CHI de Genève staff for their incessant work, to the many journalists, photographers and video-makers for their support, to the extraordinary spectators and of course to all those who contributed to this event’s success.
However, even more importantly, a special thank you to the horses that make all this possible and who are an irreplaceable privilege we all enjoy and must never forget.
