ROAD TO ROLEX IJRC TOP 10 FINAL: DANIEL Coyle

DANIEL COYLE (IRL) - 2/12/1994

Daniel Coyle will be making his debut in the Rolex IJRC Top 10 Final alongside Gilles Thomas. Aged just 31, Coyle is originally from Northern Ireland and comes from a family with a long-standing professional involvement in show jumping. His elder brother, Jordan, represented Ireland in the Nations Cup at the Langley competition in Canada. In 2016, Daniel moved to Canada to work with compatriot Conor Swail, before embarking on a successful collaboration with Susan and Ariel Grange at Lothlorien Farm in Cheltenham. The two passionate owners asked him to ride their high-quality horses. Coyle represented Ireland at the most recent Olympic Games, as well as at major international events such as the FEI Jumping World Cup Finals in 2023 and 2025, and the European Championships in 2021 and 2025.

At the end of last season, he was ranked 12th in the FEI rankings, very close to the top ten olympus. He left Geneva promising Ariel Grange that he would not miss the 2025 Rolex IJRC Top 10 Final... He kept his word.

Chat on the sidelines

What about your 2025 season? What will you consider your highlight?

«I have had a very good season with a lot of different horses at the top level. Obviously many of my horses at the moment are older. So that's why it has been. probably easier for me to maintain a higher level of consistency and results. What would I consider the biggest? Probably Spruce Meadows, the million dollar or the Queen Elizabeth Cup».

Have you already made up your mind about the horse you’ll be riding in the Rolex IJRC Top 10 Final?

«I haven't exactly made up my mind yet about which horse I will jump in the top 10»

It’s your first time in the Rolex IJRC Top 10 Final. What are your feelings about it?

«Correct, it is my first time in the Rolex IJRC Top 10 Final. And my feeling is... I can't wait!».
