ROAD TO ROLEX IJRC TOP 10 FINAL: Steve Guerdat

STEVE GUERDAT

10/06/1982

Steve Guerdat is a world jumping phenomenon. He shines with passion and talent and he was also very lucky to have a father, Philippe, who put aside his sporting career as an international rider and trainer to pursue his son's sports career.

Enfant prodige, at the age of 20 he entered the Top 20 as the youngest rider in history. His headquarters are in Elgg, in the Zurich district, in the former stable of the great champion Paul Weier.

His achievements are nothing less than extraordinary: 5 Olympic participations (the first one in Athens 2004 when he was 22), 8 European Championships (the first one in San Patrignano in 2005). He was individual gold medallist in London 2012, scored three victories in the World Cup finals, was individual bronze medallist at the 2018 World Championships in Tryon and wears the 2023 European Championships winner's sash earned just three months ago in Milan.

In the last six years, Steve has only missed participating in the Rolex IJRC Top 10 once, in the 2022 edition.

Even in this prestigious event, he has not failed to reach the podium: he was the winner in 2010 and 2018.
