Rolex IJRC Top 10 Final: the Countdown continues -1 days.
1) How did you plan this year’s season and which horses did you ride to qualify for the Rolex IJRC Top 10 Final?
To plan my season, I – and my team -- try to be as good as we can and then try to get into the 10 best in the world. I had a very good year, of course, as I’m World Champion. This helped me gain the points I need to be here at the Top 10 Final.
2) Which horse will you be riding in the final? Tell us about him/her. What sort of bond have you established?
I’ll be riding King Edward. King was with me here last year, too, and we came second after Ben Maher with Explosion. Having come second in the Top 10, I would like to come first, at least once! I know this isn’t easy; I’m up against the best riders in the world but I’ll do my best. King Edward is a brilliant horse, he has achieved marvellous things, he is the World Champion and he will show the world once more who he is!
3) Riding King Edward, you have become Olympic Team Champion, World Team and Individual Champion, all at once. Will Geneva be the last appointment of the year?
I’ll be riding King Edward in the Top 10 and on Sunday in the Grand Prix. This will be his last competition of the year. It’s one of the shows I love most and I hope to do well.
