• How did you plan this year’s season and which horses did you choose to qualify for the Rolex IJRC Top 10 Final?

I typically don’t plan a season around the World Rankings. While I have enjoyed being Number One, and try to consistently stay in or near the Top 10, my main focus is always major championships. I believe in prioritizing these; the rankings will take care of themselves.

• Which horse will you be riding in the Final? Tell us about him/her. What sort of bond have you established?

I will compete on either HH Azur or Contagious in this year’s Top 10 Final. They are the best horses in my stables and this level of sport requires the best talent you have.

• Your exceptional career includes wins in the most important shows in both the USA and the rest of the world. How does it feel to be back in Europe, in Geneva, for the Top 10?

I always enjoy competing against the best in the sport in Europe. To challenge myself at the highest level is what drives me. To win the Top 10 Final would be a great moment in my career.
