As Driving saw a tie between Marieke Harm (GER) and Jambor Vilmos (HUN), a second voting round will be held online from 1-10 October with the Driving Athlete Representative to be announced on 12 October.
Introduced in 2014, the Athletes’ Committee was designed to give a voice to the athletes within the FEI decision making process and ensure that they represented the interests of their community. This was therefore the second time that the athlete elections took place, and with a total of 52 athletes from 26 countries standing for election, the 2018 edition saw a 100% increase in participation in terms of candidates and a 160% increase in terms of nations compared to 2014.
The FEI would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank the outgoing Athletes’ Committee for their tremendous work and support these past four years.
