2014 World Cup Final winner to compete in Antwerp

22 April - Fresh from his World Cup victory in Lyon last weekend, Germany’s Daniel Deusser will be competing in Antwerp from Thursday at the first leg of this year’s highly-anticipated Longines Global Champions Tour, alongside Olympic Gold medallists Ben Maher (GBR), Marcus Ehning (GER), Steve Guerdat (SUI), McLain Ward (USA) and Laura Kraut (USA).

“We are expecting to experience some of the best sport in the history of the Tour. The level of competition during last year’s season was exceptional,” says Marco Danese, LGCT’s Sport Director. Longines Global Champions Tour will launch our spectacular outdoor season with a first-time trip to Antwerp, Belgium - home of diamonds, fashion and chocolate!

Belgium is a country with strong show jumping roots and the birth place of such famous riders as Jos Lansink, Ludo Philippaerts, Francois Mathy and Philip Le Jeune. This weekend, LGCT Antwerp will be proud to welcome Belgium's leading rider Gregory Wathelet to compete.

With 22 of the world's Top 30 riders (including seven of the Top Ten) heading for Belgium, the competition in Antwerp will be fierce.
