A Young Riders Academy: Sven Holmberg reports on Sentower Park experience
"A Young Riders Academy members from this year and last year came together at Sentower Park in Opglabbeek for an intense clinic with Jos Lansink and a few days of different activities to keep building our "family.
Sentower Park was a great location for this experience and the staff took really well care of us during all three days. I want to Thank them for that. I would also like to thank Jos for his dedication and willingness to share all his knowledge and experience with our riders.
He certainly gave them much to contemplate about and the general remark from all the participants was that they had learned a lot, enjoyed the stay and looked forward to similar events in the future. For the last day we planned a seminar with Louis Koninckx on Course designing.
After an introductory lecture the task was to sketch a course for the 6-year old horses. They all produced good courses and the choice for the best plan had been assigned to Monika Martini's design.
To conclude this experience we have organised a competition among the team with two classes. In the YH class the first place was for Laura Klaphake and her 6-years Lui. Boy Adrian, riding Casimo, with a very fast round did win the second class reserved to older horses.
