The 21-year-old Irish rider Bertram Allen aboard Hector van d’Abdijhoeve wins the Longines Grand Prix of Switzerland. At first it was his team mate Richard Howley and Chinook that took the lead, entering as fourth in the arena among the 13 couples the second round. None of the following riders were able to beet this. As second last in the arena the Swiss Paul Estermann aboard Lord Pepsi nearly made it - but only nearly – and finished as 3rd. It was the young Bertram Allen as last competitor that took the full risk and went clear in a really fast time. With also two clear rounds Steve Guerdat and Hannah finished 5th and Christina Liebherr aboard L.B. Eagle Eye 6th.
