As with the disciplines taking place over the first week of the Games, the number of entries remains very high and brings the total of athletes and horses, who will start in the Games, to 969 and 1080 respectively. The number of nations is 74, an all-time high and a 25% increase compared to the previous record established at the FEI World Equestrian Games™ in Aachen (GER) in 2006 where equestrians from 59 countries had competed.
With 54 nations, Jumping is the discipline, which has attracted the highest participation overall, an absolute record since the creation of the Games in 1990.

Australia, France, Great Britain, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Sweden, and the USA will be represented in all the disciplines, while 11 countries will make their FEI World Equestrian Games™ debut. They are Hong Kong, US Virgin Islands, Republic of Korea, Latvia, Morocco, Mauritius, Peru, Palestine, Romania, Thailand and Tunisia.
The Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games™ 2014 in Normandy will be officially opened tomorrow at a ceremony beginning at 20.30 CEST at Stade d’Ornano in Caen.
