Darragh Kenny and Quiz take Saturday’s biggest win at the WEF
8 February - The fifth competition week at the WEF in Wellington featured the “ $34,000 Suncast® 1.50m Championship Jumper Classic” as major class of the day and saw Ireland’s Darragh Kenny and Quiz take the day’s biggest win. Twenty pairs out of 66 entries found their way around Robert Ellis’s track to advance to the jump off and the first pair to achieve a double clear round would be Eugenio Garza in the saddle of El Milagro’s Balloon, who’ll stop the clock in 43’93, good enough for 5th place at the end of the class. Megan Nusz and Aladdin crossed the timers in an amazingly fast time of 42’53 to take the lead but would be immediately bettered by USA’s superstar Laura Kraut and Ferox B in a time of 41’97. But finally, Darragh Kenny and Quiz will prove invincible, stopping the clock just 0’33 hundreds of a seconds ahead of Laura Kraut to take the win of Saturday’s major class at the WEF.
