EEF Becomes Partner of the European Week of Sport



June - At a signing ceremony on 2 June, the EEF has concluded a new partnership with the European Commission. Through the agreement, EEF is now one of the 25 official institutions as a partner for the “European Week of Sport 7-13 September 2015″.

Representing the EEF, the President, Dr. Hanfried Haring signed the agreement with Mr. Tibor Navracsics, the European Commissioner for Education Culture Youth and Sport.

The European Week of Sport aims to promote sport and physical activity across Europe. The Week is for everyone, regardless of age, background or fitness level. With a focus on grassroots initiatives, it will inspire Europeans to #BeActive on a regular basis and create opportunities in peoples’ everyday lives to exercise more. #BeActive is a call to action to get Europeans moving!

The European Week of Sport takes place at EU, national, regional and local level, and is structured to include themes and activities that appeal to all audiences.
The Week is structured around four Focus Days: Education environment, Workplace, Outdoors, Sport Clubs and Fitness Centres. These are the main settings where people can improve their habits and #BeActive!

This is the first year of The European Week of Sport. The aim is to inspire all kinds of creative and exciting events and activities in different countries.
