Equestrian Sport Productions Withdraws Its 2018 FEI World Equestrian Games Bid
Wellington, FL - March 30, 2014 - Following a meeting with senior FEI officials, Equestrian Sport Productions (ESP) has regretfully withdrawn their bid for the 2018 FEI World Equestrian Games (WEG) related to a Sponsor conflict.
Mark Bellissimo CEO of ESP commented, "I would like to thank the FEI for having the confidence in our organization and world-class facility to be part of the bidding and for taking the time to meet with us. While I believe we had a very strong technical bid and I am confident we could have run a very exciting, unique, and successful WEG, the marketing conditions would have precluded us from honoring our commitments to a valued sponsor. I would like to wish the remaining candidates the best of luck for this important championship."
The remaining candidates include Lexington, Ky., host of the 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games and Bromont, Quebec.
