Guerdat gallops into the lead in opening competition
World No. 1, Switzerland’s Steve Guerdat (36), scorched home with Alamo to win the opening competition at the Longines FEI Jumping World Cup™ 2019 Final at the Scandinavium Arena in Gothenburg (SWE) this evening. Third-last to go of the 33 starters, the 2012 Olympic champion broke the stranglehold established by Belgium’s Pieter Devos (Apart), Olivier Philippaerts (H&M Legend of Love) and Francois Mathy Jr (Casanova de L’Herse) who had to settle for second, third and fourth places.
Guerdat previously claimed back-to-back FEI Jumping World Cup™ titles in 2015 and 2016.
