Italian show jumpin legend Raimondo D’Inzeo passes away
With great sadness the IJRC announces the Club’s first President and Italian show jumping legend Raimondo D’Inzeo has passed away. We would like to send our most sincere condolences to his wife Giuliana, the family and in particular to our friend Piero.
D’Inzeo became a national hero when he won gold at the 1960 Olympic Games riding Posillipo. D’Inzeo became one of the first athletes to compete in eight Olympic Games, from 1948-1976, where he won one gold, two silver and three bronze medals. As well as his Olympic success D’Inzeo was a double World Champion, winning his first World Championship in 1956.
