Italy reigns supreme at the CSIO5* Dublino Furusiyya FEI Nations Cup

The Italian team composed by Piergiorgio Bucci with Casallo Z, Lorenzo de Luca with Ensor de Litrange LXII, Emilio Bicocchi with Ares and Bruno Chimirri with Tower Mouche won the Furusiyya FEI Nations Cup in Dublin in great style.
Ireland finished second while United States was third.

The Italian team seemed to have it in the bag after a superb opening round during which they collected three clear rounds but Ireland came close to retaining the Aga Khan Nations Cup too and so the battle was fought in a final jump-off between Ireland and Italy.

Denis Lynch was the man selected to take on the shortened jump-off circuit but a dramatic refusal at the last obstacle by his horse All Star 5 led to a total of six faults for the Kildare man.

That left Piergiorgio Bucci to take on the course for the Italians, and he produced a flawless round on Casallo Z to claim the spoils.

It was a show that saw Ireland and the Italian dominate the field, with both sides putting up total scores of zero faults having been able to discard their only mistakes in the opening two rounds of jumps.

Lorenzo de Luca and the 12-year-old Ensor de Litrange LXII (by Nabab de Reve) finished two clear rounds. Also Piergiorgio Bucci and the Casall-son Casallo Z did succeed to put down the same result.

Team member Bruno Chimirri and Tower Mou je (by Diamant de Semilly) did not finish, after his result didn’t matter for the win anymore. Emilio Bicocchi and Ares (by Ephebe For Forever) collected a total of 8 points.

The team of Lynch, Bertram Allen, Greg Broderick and Cian O'Connor managed to ride seven clear rounds out of their initial eight rides, with only a dropped fence by Allen in his first attempt and a time fault for Lynch on his second the only blots on the Irish report.
