JANIKA SPRUNGER SPEEDS TO VICTORY IN FALSTERBO

13 July - In Falsterbo, Sweden, it was the Swiss anthem that played after the Grand Prix. Aboard the 9-year-old Bonne Chance CW (by Baloubet du Rouet), Janika Sprunger rode to victory. The pair left ‘home-rider’, Henrik von Eckermann and the 13-year-old Belgian Warmbred Cantinero (by Cento) in a second place. Charlotte Mordasini and Romane du Theil followed in a third place.

Lucky the weather-gods favorised the competition a little bit more as the days before. The top five was completed by Malin Baryard-Johnsson with H&M Tornesch 1042 and Meredith Michaels-Beerbaum with Fibonacci 17.

Best Irish rider was Dermott Lennon with Loughview Lou-Lou. The horse-rider combination had the fastest time in the Jump-off, finishing in 42.04 seconds. However one rail fell down, resulting in an 8th place. Laura Kraut and Cedric also qualified for the jump-off. Finishing with 4 points the pair ended 11th.

A total of 11 horse-rider combination qualified for the jump-off.
