Kent Farrington wins the Longines Cup of the City of Barcelona



11 October - The American rider Kent Farrington has tonight won the Longines Cup of the City of Barcelona after coming out top of the 38 competing riders. Farrington, riding Uceko, was fastest in the second round, ahead of the Briton William Whitaker, on Upperclass, and Marie Hecart from France, on Myself de Breve. Only two other riders were able to complete the second round without incurring penalties: Piergiorgio Bucci (Catwalk Z) and Gerco Schröeder (Cognac Champblanc).

During the competition event, a dinner was held that was attended by Xavier Trías, Mayor of Barcelona; Maite Fandos, the Deputy Mayor for Quality of Life, Equality and Sport; Iván Tibau, Secretary-General of Sport in Catalonia; and Juan Antonio Samaranch Jnr, vice-chairman of the Spanish Olympic Committee.

As a climax to the evening event, a wonderful equestrian show was held starring Córdoba Ecuestre.
