Lynch leads the way in Thursday’s biggest class in Gothenburg
27 February - Ireland’s Denis Lynch got a good start on his weekend at the CSI5*-W event in Gothenburg when he won Thursday’s 1.50 class. Riding the 15 year old Abbervail van het Dingeshof (Nonstop x Jus de Pomme), Lynch went into a jump-off counting no less than sixteen riders. With some of the world’s best riders in it, it became a race against the clock – but Lynch was in a league of his own with more than a second down to runner-up Maikel van der Vleuten on VDL Groep Arera C (Indoctro x Voltaire). Third place was a popular one and went to Sweden’s own Peder Fredricson on H&M Flip’s Little Sparrow (Cardento 933 x Robin Z 723), while Olivier Philippaerts and Patrice Delaveau took care about fourth and fifth place.
Maikel van der Vleuten had a good day at work, and won the opening 1.45 speed class on VDL Groep Eureka (Chin Chin x Quidam de Revel), followed by home rider Douglas Lindelöw on Talina (Matterhorn x Heidelberg) in second and Marlon Zanotelli on Zerlin M (Berlin x Concorde) in third.
