Olympic medal winner Lando deceased

20 November - Lando, the renown showjumper who won the Silver medal at the Olympic Games in Sydney with Dutch rider Albert Voorn, died at the age of 26. The spirited Lancier-son became a mount for German Otto Becker after the 2000 Olympics. The approved stallion was withdrawn from the sport in 2005 after which he was retired at stud Haras Béligneux.
