The young Riders Academy is a new program conceived for talented young show jumpers, under the patronage of the European Equestrian Federation (EEF), with the cooperation of the International Jumping Riders Club (IJRC) and the support of Rolex.

Athenaeum is a non-profit association founded by a group of professionals with a passion for horses.

The project is the result of a complex reasoning: the world of sports is evolving fast and athletes must become managers of themselves to achieve their ambitions. The equestrian sport, for reasons related to its nature, has lagged a lot behind the others.

The above scenario inspired the Athenaeum working group, and the young Riders Academy is the result.

Regarding the second group who will join this project, the Selection Panel came up with the final assignment:

Boy Adrian van Gelderen will be trained Marcus Ehning

Jonathan Gordon will be trained by Ludger Beerbaum

Nicole Holmén will be trained by Rolf-Göran Bengtsson

Irma Karlsson will be trained by Gerco Schröder

Margaux Rocuet will be trained by Ludger Beerbaum

George Whitaker will be trained by Jos Lansink

Riders now will individually organize their internship timetable with Sven Holmberg according to their shows schedule.

The six  riders nominated for the Full Program, together with those riders invited to Educational, will gather next week in Lugano at Franklin University for Communication and Veterinary sessions.

The group of riders that are part of the 2015 "Educational Programme" are:

Maria Madenova, Marcell Marschall, Laura Klaphake, Nicola and Olivier Philippaerts.
