Reveur de Hurtebise HDC to be retired from the competitons

Yesterday after the first day of the FEI World Cup Final, where Reveur de Hurtebise HDC finished the course with some unusual fences down, Kevin and his owners at Haras des Coudrettes decided that it is time to retire this fantastic horse, who won so many competitions, included the Rolex IJRC Top Ten final last December and the gold team medal at the Rio Olympic Games.

"Tonight's dreamer of hurtebise * HDC has not been at the meeting but none of us, none of you, can blame him. He was a fantastic partner for Kevin, an exceptional companion for us and a loyal partner who gave everything to the French team by contributing very actively to all the last beautiful french medals. So how do you think today of 17 years of age does not hear his voice? He just told us that it doesn't amuse him as much as the jem of Caen, that he no longer takes as much pleasure as in Rio and he gave his whole heart last December in Geneva by winning the top 10. So it's time for Kevin, Laurence, Armand and me as well as for the whole team to pay tribute to our little crack by letting him quietly take a step back and gently tirer at the pace that best suits him during the latter Year.

We are not sad because he is in good shape and happy, so we are going, as we did for Silvana, Orient Express, Ornella and others to offer him many more beautiful years under our windows in our norman paddocks. So tonight, Kevin and I thank you for our most beautiful memories and our most beautiful emotions... you're always here with us, more beautiful than ever, it's the most important. You're gonna have to look out for the little boys in the stables and give them your secrets... those of a champion.
