Showjumper Bertram firmly in the driving seat after winning three cars!

Ireland's leading showjumper Bertram Allen could be tempted to set up in the motor trade after adding three new Volkswagens to his extensive collection following brilliant results with Molly Malone at Stockholm Horse Show over the weekend.

A win in Saturday's night's Volkswagen Speed event saw him collect the keys to a brand new Tiguan; and yesterday he produced the only double-clear of the competition to win the Grand Prix, which earned him another one.

The Irishman, who lies 17th in the world rankings was the only rider to go into the Grand Prix second round on a zero score, with four other top contenders trailing him by a single time fault. Knowing another fault-free effort could clinch it. the 21-year-old Wexford rider kept a typically cool head to do just that and this earned him the Leading Rider of the Show title - and his third car.

Stockholm has been a happy hunting ground for Allen, who also picked up three cars at the same fixture last year. His latest haul brings the total number of cars he has collected to nine, but even more importantly announces the return of his 12-year-old grey mare to top form.
