Tragedy has hit the 22 year old showjumper Emma O’Dwyer, who is part of the "Rolex Young Riders Academy" and who was a member of several British teams at European young rider level in the past few years.
Last Friday in Tipperary Southern Ireland, Emma was leading a horse with her father Tom, 56 year old who has been involved with horses all his life, following behind, when the horse kicked out. Emergency services were called but Tom was pronounced dead at the scene.
All IJRC thoughts are with all the families involved and the IJRC expresses its condolences to Emma, her mum Joanne, her family and friends during this difficult time.
