The Equestrian world Mourns the Loss of Legendary Show Jumper Willi Melliger

It is with great sadness that the Equestrian world has learned of the passing of esteemed show jumper Willi Melliger at the age of 64.
The unforgettable Swiss champion Willi Melliger died on Tuesday night in the hospital where he had been hospitalized for 5 weeks for a cerebral ischemia, which had caused him a coma.
He was considered one of the greatest Swiss riders of all time, riding the legendary horse Calvaro, he won two Show-jumping Olympic silver medals: one as individual in 1996 in Atlanta and and the other one in 2000 in Sydney with his team. During his long career he also was on the Europian Campionship podium 6 times winning 3 titles.
