Thrilling 2014 Athina Onassis Horse Show to be held in Saint-Tropez

2 April - After six editions organized in Brazil, the Athina Onassis Horse Show now settles in France. It is the beach of Pampelonne, located on the peninsula of Saint-Tropez, that has been selected as venue for the event. The show is orchestrated by Brazilian rider Alvaro Affonso de Miranda Neto, known as Doda, and his wife Athina Onassis.

"The peninsula of Saint Tropez is an ideal setting for the Athina Onassis Horse Show which combines sports performances and elegance in a festive atmosphere. On the other hand, no other horse show is set in this site despite the strong demand. Finally, I've always had a lot of fun coming here during my family vacation, so when we had to choose a new site to organize the show, our choice was quickly focused on the fabulous beach of Pampelonne. The municipality of Ramatuelle immediately agreed, which delighted us," Doda says.

Sponsored by Swiss watchmaker Longines, the event will feature two competitions; a CSI5* and a CSI 2* for amateur riders. The top 35 riders and horses in the world will be invited to take part in the CSI5 * events, including the Grand Prix Longines, worth € 300,000 in prize-money and presented on Saturday 7th June as a grand finale of the three days.

The CSI2 * will host 25 amateur couples who have the privilege to compete in the same conditions as the greatest riders present.
