20 February - Sweden’s Alexander Zetterman announced on Feb. 14 on his Instagram that Karen Long Dwight purchased his 2014 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games (France) mount Cafino for Tori Colvin to ride.
“I’ve jumped him a couple times at the farm, but he seems like a very easy and amazing [horse]. He jumps amazing at home,” said Colvin, 17. She hasn’t shown the gelding yet, but plans to start him in the 1.30- and 1.40-meter classes during week 7 of the Winter Equestrian Festival (Fla.).
“If it’s good, maybe [we’ll] go up a little bit,” Colvin continued. “We don’t want to go too fast. I think our plan is to hopefully start doing a lot of grand prix classes and showing into the bigger levels of jumping.”
The 12-year-old Swedish Warmblood gelding (Cardento 933—Firona, Roderik 856) competed twice at the European Junior and Young Rider Championships with Karl-Jacob Ingvarsson before Zetterman took over the ride in 2014. He had top placings at that year’s WEF, before returning to Europe where he topped the Longines Falsterbo Grand Prix (Sweden).
Zetterman and Cafino were part of the third-placed Swedish teams in the Furusiyya FEI Nations Cup in Dublin, Ireland and Barcelona, Spain.
“Thank you Cafino for all the great moments; you made me believe that dreams can come true! We wish the new owners good luck!” Zetterman said on Instagram.
