Young Riders Academy presents Riders and Trainers combination for 2016 and confirm Jonathan Gordon and Laura Klaphake YRA riders at CHIO Aachen.

Lugano, July 1st 2016 - Press Release - First YRA 2016 session just ended in Lugano. Last week all riders, Full program Team and Educational program Team, gathered at Franklin University Switzerland to begin their experience within Veterinary, Business & Economics, Communication and Leadership.

During the week, sport manager Sven Holmberg together with the Board, assigned a professional Trainer to each one of the six Riders that are going to attend the full program this year.

Jack Dodd (IRL ) will train with Markus Ehning

. Pål Flam (NORwill train with Gerco, Ben, Wim Schroder

. Eoin McMahon (IRL ) will train with Marco Kutscher

. Emma O´Dwyer (GBR ) will train with Markus Beerbaum

. Laura Klaphake (GER ) will train with Franke Sloothaak.

Educational Program Team members Derin Demirsoy (TUR), Laetitia Du Couëdic (SUI), Michael Duffy (IRL ),Giampiero Garofalo (ITA), Spencer Roe (GBR), Basile Rubio (FRA) in addition to the theoretical seminars are going to partecipate during the year to sport clinics with Jos Lansink, Rolf-Goran Bengtsson and Scott Brash.


Moreover, for this year CHIO Aachen, YRA Board confirms that Laura and Jonathan entered the show. For Jonathan, who is having a brilliant season, is going to be the very first time.


The young Riders Academy is a program conceived for European talented young show jumpers, under the patronage of the European Equestrian Federation (EEF), with the cooperation of the International Jumping Riders Club (IJRC) and the support of Rolex.

Founded in 2014 by Athenaeum, a non-profit association, the program will give talented riders between the ages of 18 and 23 the chance to get six months of training and boarding at a well-known professional stable. On top of that, professional education in communication, business and economics, veterinary and legal practice related to show jumping. The objective is to develop future champions as well as potential managers of this sport.
