Zirocco Blue VDL has been retired from competitions

The thirteen years old fantastic horse Zirocco Blue VDL successfully ridden by the dutch rider Jur Vrieling, has been retired from the competitions.

Jur Vrieling and Zirocco Blue VDL won the team gold medal at the 2015 European Championships in Aachen as well as many others Gran Prix. "A special thanks to Jur Vrieling and his team for all the fantastic moments with Zirocco Blue," writes the VDL Stud on their Facebook page.

Zirocco Blue will now dedicate himself to his breeding career. His grandfather is the ‘Preferent’ stallion Voltaire who competed himself at international level and is Sire and Grand-Sire of many International Sporthorses.

Zirroco Blue’s dam Licorne des Forets is competing at International 1.50 m. level whilst his grandmother Gekas des Forets competed at 1.40m level and was the most winning 6 year old in France. Grand-Grandmother Rapsodie II also competed at 1.40m level and is a full sister to the approved stallion and Grand Prix horse Stew Boy. This mother line produced several approved stallions, National jumpers and International Jumpers such as the 2007 National Champion of France, Lavande des Forets.
